I took part in the 2nd Ghetto Biennale in 2011, Port-au-Prince. Biennale co-founder, Leah Gordon has published an illustrated catalogue documenting the first four events, from 2009 to 2015. Documentation of the projects and works produced during the Biennales, and a compendium of local host artists and their work, are accompanied by new and reprinted texts.
Our contemporary reality of highly public lives performed for cameras on YouTube, blogs, Facebook, and reality TV has further shifted diaristic practices away from private confessional towards declarations that are intended to be widely shared.
